A Afternoon in the Workshop: 3D Printers, Lasers and One Very Serious Quality Inspector (Me)
The day starts early, usually before my cats are awake, with the sound of the printers warming up. My dad switches on the Bambu Lab printers while I check what we promised customers the night before. Orders first, new ideas second. That’s the rule. By 9 a.m. the workshop smells slightly of warm plastic, and there’s a little pile of freshly printed dragons waiting for me to inspect.

Quality control is my favourite job, and I take it seriously. I bend every dragon’s tail and body segment, check that nothing snaps and look for rough spots. If a piece fails, it goes in the “learning pile”. We keep every failure because it tells us what to fix. Around midday: a guest visiting, Marcus joining, a school friend testing a new design.
In the afternoon, the laser takes over. We use it for engraving, and the new UV printer adds colour to designs. By evening we’ve packed orders and written down new ideas. Every dragon, night light and book nook that leaves our workshop in Timolin carries a bit of that day with it. See what we made in our shop.
