We're in the Kilcullen Diary: Timolin Toymaker Is a 2026 Family Business Awards Finalist
Guess what? We're in the news again! The Kilcullen Diary has just published a lovely story about me, my dad and our workshop in Timolin.
Brian Byrne came to visit while my printers were busy making Halloween toys for the markets. I showed him our 3D printers, laser engravers and mould presses, my fortune-telling palm scanner (it works!) and how we turn photos into personalised images inside glass blocks.
What the article says
- William Alexander Toys is a father-and-son business run by my dad, Ioannis, and me, and it's named after my first and middle names.
- We're a finalist for Innovative Family Business of the Year (Leinster) at the 2026 Family Business Awards, in association with Goodbody. The winner will be announced on Thursday, 5 November, at the Johnstown Estate in Enfield.
- We design and 3D print toys, puzzles and stereograms, including fidget toys that are great for school sensory rooms.
- I paid for my first 3D printer by doing work for Ancient Origins, and now I sell my toys at local markets. (I like selling, and I'm very good at it!)
Brian said talking to me felt like listening to someone with degrees in electronics and engineering. That made me smile!
