My Story Featured in the Irish Independent!

Hi everyone,

I have some exciting news to share! I was recently featured in the Irish Independent for my business, William Alexander Toys. It was amazing to see my story in one of Ireland’s biggest newspapers and to share what I’ve been working on.

How It All Began

My journey started when I was just five years old. I made my very first toy, an electromagnetic crane, out of wood. My grandma bought it, and that was my very first sale! Since then, I’ve been creating new products every summer and at Halloween to add to my little shop.

Last summer, my friend Sophia and I decided to take things to the next level. Sophia is 14 and has always wanted to start a business too. Together, we built a website, added our toy designs, and launched William Alexander Toys. It’s been so exciting to see it grow!

Building My Workshop

At home, I have a special workshop where I make my toys. I use 3D printers, laser cutters, motors, and lots of other cool tools and materials. This is where ideas turn into real toys, like fairy houses, dragon boxes, and more.

My best friend Milo has even helped by designing some of our T-shirt graphics, including an amazing dragon design. It’s been great to have friends involved and to work together on fun projects.

Balancing School and Business

Running a business while going to school keeps me really busy! I try to work on videos and products after school with help from my dad. He promotes my TikTok videos and makes sure my face isn’t shown by adding a cartoon overlay.

On TikTok, I share videos about how our toys are made, behind-the-scenes of my business, and even fun moments from my life — like my trip to Greece or my grandpa’s church, which turned out to be super popular online!

Reactions From My School

When my classmates found out about my business, they were amazed. In fact, “all of my school wanted to join my business,” which was really cool to see! It feels great to know I’ve inspired others to be creative and think about starting something of their own.

What’s Next

This is just the beginning. Sophia and I have lots of ideas for new products, including a mushroom fairy house and more dragons!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. You can read the full article on the Irish Independent’s website.
